Yale University – outstanding architecture for new school premises
The Beaubois team contributed to the exceptional architecture for the new premises of Yale University’s School of Management. All 16 classrooms in the Edward P. Evans Hall building are oval in shape and are laid out differently in terms of size, curves and levels. A large quantity of high-quality walnut veneer was used for this project.
The classrooms, with a total capacity of 1,000 seats, were enhanced with paneling. Beaubois produced metal paneling to border the 15-foot-high doorframes as well as metal elements to cover furniture in the Coffee Shop and the Media Library.
The Beinecke Room, which is also curved, was equipped with pocket doors that slide into a wall that does not touch the perimeter. The Beaubois team also crafted rectangular and concave totems decorated with wood strips.
Every element of the project was carried out with the utmost precision, so that all pieces would fit perfectly together when assembled. Beaubois experts used a 3-D laser to avoid any errors in precision. This unique project was an exciting challenge for everyone involved.
