The Seniors’ Residence in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield
A solution to the growing need for accommodation for our seniors.
The Seniors’ Residence in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield—the 15th seniors’ home that Beaubois has worked on—will welcome its first residents in 2024.
Funded by the Government of Quebec, the Maison des Ainés seniors’ residences are designed to offer a home-like environment for seniors in need of care.
Each wing has a maximum of 12 rooms and a dedicated care team.
This new residence is located on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Baie Saint-François, in the heart of a residential neighborhood and near a playground with the aim of fostering multi-generational connections.
Featuring 96 single rooms equipped with their own toilet and shower, the living environment will be finished in wood, both on its exterior as well as its interior, with large windows to let in natural light. The building will also include a daycare on the ground floor.
Beaubois’ mandate for this project involves architectural finishing using a variety of materials, including wood, melamine and Corian. We will also be crafting a number of interior elements, such as wooden arches at room entrances, bookcases, elevator doors, hair salon furniture, vanities for bariatric rooms, kitchenettes, islands, stainless steel shelves, reception wall panels, headboards, medicine cabinets, as well as furniture for lounges, laundry rooms, and shower rooms.
Though similar to other seniors' homes to which Beaubois has contributed, this residence has its own unique manufacturing details. The challenge with this type of project is to preserve its distinctiveness within a set of similar projects.
