The Shangri-La Hotel & Residences – a splendid space
With 66 floors, the Shangri-La Hotel & Residences is one of Toronto’s 10 tallest buildings. The value of the five-star property is estimated at over $500M. Beaubois was honored to provide architectural woodwork for 17 floors of the impressive downtown attraction, including the hotel lobby, ballrooms, prefunction and meeting rooms, as well as various service areas, the atrium and 220 guestrooms.
The Beaubois team crafted a magnificent spiraled ceiling in the hotel lobby, as well as a superb lacework ceiling and unique trellis walls in the Bosq restaurant.
Various hardwoods were selected for this project including: wenge, teak, white oak and sapele. All of the hotel rooms were enhanced with sapele doors and frames, wall panels, minibars, closets and safes.
Beaubois provided artistic woodwork for the health club, yoga studio hammam (sauna), spa and beauty salon, as well as wall panels, ceiling moldings and baseboard moldings for the corridors of the splendid hotel. The Shangri-La Hotel & Residences was an ambitious project and the Beaubois team was thrilled to contribute its expertise and characteristic touch for elegance in architectural woodwork.
