The Michigan Stadium – an exciting expansion
Beaubois participated in the renovation and expansion of the Michigan Stadium. Known as the “Big House,” the Michigan Stadium is the third-largest stadium in the world. The renovation project, totaling $226M, increased the seating capacity to over 108,000.
The talented Beaubois team provided furnishings and architectural woodwork elements for the stadium’s suites, pressroom, elevators, lobby, reception and food service areas. The firm also re-covered the numerous columns throughout the stadium.
The main goals for this project included the creation of 83 new suites and more than 3,000 new seats, the enlargement of corridors and seating areas, the replacement of the bleachers and the construction of a new pressroom, and new food service areas, foyers and washrooms. The new stadium will allow the National Collegiate Athletic Association team, the Michigan Wolverines, to achieve new attendance records. Beaubois was proud to contribute to this exciting project.
