Renowned for its expertise in this area, Beaubois has obtained the architectural woodwork contract for the Mecklenburg County Courthouse in Charlotte (NC). This prestigious project, with a value of US$ 5.6 M, will take place over two years.
The new building has been laid out to meet the varied needs of its future users. The Family Court’s rooms are all located on the first floor and designed to be adapted to the different cases heard there. In some, there are more tables for a growing number of participants; in others, the judge’s bench is lower and less intimidating to children.
Producing custom-made furnishings and woodwork unique to a particular building – that is Beaubois strength! Judges’ chambers, attorneys’ tables, wall panels, tables, jury benches, public benches, doors and frames in dyed cherry will all reflect the creative talent and versatility of the firm’s team.
This triangular building will have 34 courtrooms, all octagonal, over 7 floors. It will be a great improvement over the previous facilities where the courtrooms were spread over four different buildings.
