The Hyatt Regency McCormick Place – a massive expansion
Beaubois was thrilled to participate in the major enlargement of the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago. The Hyatt Regency is the only hotel associated with the McCormick Place, the largest convention center in the United States, with 2.6 million sq. ft. of exhibition space and over 3 million visitors a year. With an investment of $87M, this renovation project was designed to obtain LEED certification.
Beaubois installed architectural elements and integrated furniture for the hotel’s 400 new guest rooms. The 800 existing guest rooms were renovated and a new pedestrian bridge was constructed to connect the two towers. The Beaubois team produced and installed headboards in the executive and presidential suites and mounted floor boards on the walls of the latter, a new trend that gives the room a distinctive look. Beaubois also produced coffee bars for all of the new guest rooms.
Beaubois crafted a gorgeous reception desk for the hotel lobby and counters and showcases for the Grab & Go shop. The team also installed 20-ft.-high anigre wall panelling on the first floor of the convention center, and produced and installed wood finishes, moldings and 800 door frames in the existing tower.
This was an ambitious project and the Beaubois team was pleased to lend its skills to ensure timely completion and top quality work.
